CPLD was appointed to design the lighting for Tête-à-Tête, the French Riviera–inspired restaurant on Level 9 of FIVE LUXE at Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai.

The interior is defined by a ceiling of hanging lavender, glass "jewellery box" enclosures around intimate tables and the bar, an open kitchen, and a terrace facing Ain Dubai and Bluewaters. The lighting concept works with these elements rather than competing with them. Warm, layered light brings out the colour and texture of the lavender canopy, lets each jewellery box glow as a room within the room, and keeps attention on the table and the guest. As the evening moves from dinner into a DJ-led late night, the lighting moves with it, raising the energy while keeping the intimacy the name promises.

In 2026, Tête-à-Tête won Restaurant Lighting Project of the Year at the Light Middle East Awards, an honour shared with Ronin, CPLD's design for the neighbouring restaurant on the same floor.
